Rayyane Tabet. Hauser & Wirth Menorca, 2026

Contemporary art and sculpture photography by Daniel Schäfer documenting Elegy at Minūrqa (2026), a work by Lebanese artist Rayyane Tabet, presented at Hauser & Wirth Menorca in spring 2026.

The installation forms part of the outdoor sculpture trail selected by Cristina Iglesias, bringing together contemporary artworks in dialogue with the history, architecture and Mediterranean landscape of Illa del Rei.

Through a practice rooted in historical research, archaeology and personal narratives, Tabet explores the ways in which objects, places and materials carry traces of the past. His work frequently addresses the movement of cultural artefacts across borders and the complex relationships between memory, displacement and belonging.

With Elegy at Minūrqa, the artist establishes a connection to Menorca's layered history, inviting reflection on the cultural encounters and transformations that have shaped the island over time.

Commissioned by Hauser & Wirth, Daniel Schäfer Studio's photographic documentation records the installation within its architectural and landscape setting, exploring the relationship between contemporary artistic intervention, historical memory and place.
