An ongoing photographic collaboration between Daniel Schäfer Studio and The Rope, a Munich-based collectible design gallery and interior design studio founded by Robert Stephan, Vicky Schlagböhmer and Peter Schlagböhmer.

Located in the historic Luitpoldblock, The Rope brings together rare vintage furniture, contemporary collectible design and sculptural objects from the 20th and 21st centuries. Conceived as a series of carefully curated interior settings, the gallery creates unexpected dialogues between different periods, materials and artistic expressions.

Its collection encompasses designs by Pierre Chapo, Gio Ponti, Oscar Niemeyer and Vladimir Kagan, alongside contemporary works by Rick Owens, Christophe Côme, Arno Declercq, Thierry Lemaire and Eric Schmitt.

The 2026 Collection

Photographed in May 2026, this chapter documents a new presentation of collectible furniture, sculptural objects and decorative pieces within the gallery. Vintage and contemporary designs coexist in carefully composed settings that blur the boundaries between functional design, sculpture and art.

The selection reflects The Rope’s curatorial approach, bringing together historical and contemporary design through unexpected associations of form, material and craftsmanship.

Through this photographic collaboration, Daniel Schäfer Studio documents the gallery’s evolving identity, exploring the sculptural presence of objects and the relationships between furniture, artworks and architectural space.

The gallery and Daniel’s photography have been featured in Architectural Digest Germany.
