Christian Jankowski. Artist Residence & Studio. Berlin.

Contemporary art, artist portrait and interior photography by Daniel Schäfer documenting the Berlin house and studio of Christian Jankowski, the German conceptual artist whose practice moves between performance, video, photography, sculpture and installation.

Jankowski's work frequently draws on everyday situations, social interactions and familiar cultural conventions, transforming ordinary experiences into unexpected artistic encounters. His practice often blurs the boundaries between reality and representation, questioning the roles of the artist, the audience and the environments in which art is produced.

His Berlin residence offers an intimate perspective on this creative universe. Exposed brickwork, generous windows and open interiors provide a setting in which domestic life and artistic production coexist. Artworks, archival materials, books and collected objects inhabit the rooms alongside furniture and working equipment, creating an environment that feels both personal and continuously evolving.

A monumental sculptural hand, photographic works and traces of ongoing projects introduce elements of Jankowski's artistic language into the domestic space. Rather than separating the house from the studio, the interiors suggest a fluid relationship between living, thinking and making, where objects and everyday surroundings become part of a larger creative dialogue.

Photographed by Daniel Schäfer in collaboration with Bettina Dubcovski for AD España, the editorial series moves between architectural perspectives, intimate interior compositions, artworks and a portrait of the artist. The photographs explore the relationship between Jankowski's conceptual practice and the environment in which his ideas take shape.

Through the photographic documentation by Daniel Schäfer Studio, the house and studio emerge as a portrait of the artist beyond his physical presence: a collection of spaces, objects and visual relationships that reveal something of his way of seeing and interpreting the world.
