Elmgreen & Dragset. Artists’ Studio, Berlin.
A photographic documentation of Elmgreen & Dragset, the internationally acclaimed contemporary artist duo, in their Berlin studio.
Working across sculpture, installation and performance, Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset explore the relationship between art, architecture, social conventions and everyday life. Their practice often transforms familiar spaces and objects into unexpected situations, questioning how we experience and interpret our surroundings.
Located in a former water-pumping station, their Berlin studio brings together artistic production, experimentation and daily life. Monumental industrial spaces coexist with artworks, prototypes, collected objects and more intimate environments, offering an insight into the artists’ creative world.
The photographic series moves between portraits of the artists, their works and the spaces in which they develop their ideas. Rather than approaching the studio simply as an architectural setting, the images explore the relationship between the artists, their practice and their working environment.
Photographed by Daniel Schäfer Studio for AD España, the series documents Elmgreen & Dragset within the distinctive context of their Berlin studio.
