An architectural and interior photography series by Daniel Schäfer Studio documenting a private residence on Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria, with interiors by Julia Stöckert / Atelier Yay and architecture by BAND Architektur.
Designed for a family with Australian and Bavarian roots, the residence brings together regional craftsmanship, contemporary design and a playful approach to domestic living. Natural materials, bespoke furniture and carefully composed colour palettes establish a distinctive interior language, balancing warmth and sophistication with unexpected architectural gestures.
At the heart of the house, a sculptural chrome slide connects the living spaces with an indoor swimming pool, transforming an everyday family home into a place of discovery and play. Throughout the interiors, oak, natural stone and textured surfaces coexist with expressive colours and sculptural furnishings, creating a dialogue between materiality, architecture and the surrounding landscape.
The photographic series explores the character of the residence through its spatial compositions, material contrasts and the relationship between interiors and natural light. Rather than simply documenting individual rooms, Daniel Schäfer Studio approaches the house as a coherent visual narrative, revealing the distinctive atmosphere created by Atelier Yay.
The project was featured in Architectural Digest Germany in August 2026.
