Michael Fuchs & Costance Breton Residence / Berlin.
The private residence of art dealer Michael Fuchs and Constance Breton occupies the top floor of the former Jewish Girls’ School in Berlin-Mitte, a 1930s building transformed into a cultural destination housing galleries, a museum and restaurants.
The 450-square-metre apartment retains elements of the building’s original architecture, including exposed brick ceilings, steel beams and large windows. Within this open setting, contemporary artworks and collectible furniture coexist with pieces by Gio Ponti, Jean Prouvé, Verner Panton and Alvar Aalto.
The home reflects a close relationship between art and everyday life. Works from the owners’ collection inhabit the domestic spaces, creating an environment where architectural heritage, contemporary art and design come together.
Photographed by Daniel Schäfer Studio and published in Architectural Digest Spain, the editorial series documents the residence, its architectural character and the dialogue between artworks, objects and inhabited space.
